Entrepreneurs who apply for permanent residence in British Columbia through the Entrepreneur Immigration (EI) stream invested more than $21 million last year in new companies. In the recently-released British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program Statistical Report 2021, the westernmost province of Canada offers a glimpse into the beneficial impacts of immigration to BC. In 2021, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) nominated 38 entrepreneurs for permanent residency through its EI stream, more than twice as many as in 2020. They generated over $21 million in total personal investment and added over 163 jobs to the province’s economy.
