In the current economic climate, pay raises that exceed inflation for employees in Canada have the potential to be a benefit to individuals interested in coming to Canada under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP). According to the Federal Government’s website “wages offered to temporary foreign workers should be similar to wages paid to Canadian and permanent resident employees hired for the same job and work location, and with similar skills and years of experience.” Thus, all employers must pay temporary workers competitive salaries under the TFWP regardless of which stream they use to recruit foreign employees.
