On March 17, 2022, the Ministry of Immigration, Population Growth and Skills of Newfoundland and Labrador announced the expansion of the Ukrainian Family Support Desk. The Ministry will offer in-person, expedited support for Ukrainians seeking temporary or permanent resettlement in the province. The Staff of the Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism will travel to Poland to directly interact with Ukrainian refugees who may be looking for information on coming to Newfoundland and Labrador. The team will host information sessions about immigration programs and support services offered by the province, connect Ukrainians looking for jobs in Newfoundland and Labrador, and prioritize the immigration nomination applications from individuals impacted by the war.
