On March 1, 2022, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Sean Fraser issued a statement on Fraud Prevention Month. The Minister stated that immigration fraud continues to be a common and serious crime in Canada for many prospective immigrants who decided to get help from unlicensed consultants or Consultants. Every March, IRCC actively participates in the Government of Canada’s Fraud Prevention Month to inform newcomers about the risks associated with fraud and the ways they can protect themselves. He advised newcomers to be informed and prepared to protect themselves and prevent possible fraud.
