Nova Scotia temporarily stopped the intake of immigrants under the Atlantic Immigration Program

On March 29, 2022, the Government of Nova Scotia announced that the province has temporarily paused the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) and the Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry (NSEEE) stream to food service supervisors (NOC 6311). As of now, applicants who possess work experience under the NSEEE or AIP under NOC 6311 are not eligible to apply for permanent residency (PR). However, candidates working under the NOC 6311 can apply through the Skilled Worker Stream, and employers in the food and hospitality sectors may use the Skilled Worker stream to recruit employees under this NOC. In addition, Nova Scotia employers may also hire food and beverage servers (NOC 6513), food counter attendants, kitchen helpers, and related support occupations (NOC 6711) under the Occupations in Demand stream.
