Newfoundland and Labrador eased requirements for Ukrainian newcomers allowing them to exchange their Ukrainian driver’s licence

On June 10, 2022, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador introduced an amendment to motor vehicle regulations of the province to allow for the quick exchange of a Ukrainian driver’s licence for a provincial one. Ukrainian newcomers will also be eligible for competitive automobile insurance rates that will allow them to secure jobs faster, ensuring their long-term stay in the province. All Ukrainian newcomers can exchange their licences by providing their old Ukrainian driver’s licences and driving history records. To be eligible, all applicants must be at least 17 years of age.
