Nearly half of Hong Kongers want to immigrate

According to various polls, nearly half of Hong Kongers want to immigrate. Among these people, nearly one quarter want to immigrate to the U.K., followed by Australia and Taiwan, higher than the number of people who wish to immigrate to the U.S. and Canada.

Nearly 30% of young people want to immigrate, mainly due to the social impact brought about by the Hong Kong national security legislation.

According to Hong Kong media reports, a survey released by the Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong found 43.9% of Hong Kong people intend to immigrate, and half of them are already preparing to immigrate.

This figure is a significant increase compared to last year.

When it comes to the country they want to immigrate to, Taiwan ranked third, after the U.K. and Australia, but was higher than Canada and the United States.
