Details from the latest Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities Stream draw have been released

Nova Scotia invites 144 Express Entry candidates working in advertising, marketing or public relations

Nova Scotia has invited 144 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence through its Labour Market Priorities Stream.

The Nova Scotia Nominee Program invited candidates who work in advertising, marketing or public relations. Those selected needed to have the National Occupation Code (NOC) 1123.

The Labour Market Priorities Stream allows the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) to search Canada’s Express Entry pool for eligible candidates who match labour market needs in the province.

Since its launch in 2018, the stream has invited early childhood education workers, financial auditors and accountants, social workers, as well as French-speaking Express Entry candidates.

Selected candidates need to have provided letters of reference from employers to demonstrate that they have two or more years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in advertising, marketing or public relations within the five years preceding the application.

They also needed to have selected English as their first official language and have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of 9 or higher in all language skills.

They also needed to have a master’s degree, and provide proof of education with their application such as an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report issued by an institution designated by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

They also needed to have submitted an Expression of Interest to the Express Entry pool on or after Jan 1, 2019.

Those who were selected have a chance to receive a provincial nomination from Nova Scotia. Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination obtain an additional 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, effectively guaranteeing an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

Candidates who received a Letter of Invitation in today’s draw must submit a complete application to the NSNP no later than January 19, 2020.
