Canada introduced new instructions for International Experience Canada applicants

On July 15, 2022, the Government of Canada introduced instructions for International Experience Canada applicants. The new instructions clarify that International Experience Canada (IEC) applicants have to acquire valid healthcare insurance for the entire period of their work permit. IEC applicants who could not purchase insurance to cover the entire length of their work permit can present 2 consecutive healthcare insurance policies. At the time of application, IEC applicants are not required to provide proof of healthcare insurance. However, they have to declare that they will purchase one before coming to Canada.
